This is an opportunity to unplug, learn to make things with our own hands, and sync to nature’s rhythm.

Spring Chickadee Camp
Join Robin Bliss-Wagner once a week in this deep nature connection series to learn ancient skills such as animal tracking, wilderness survival and more. Games, stories, ancestral skills/crafts and wandering the land will weave together as we learn to blend into the landscape and open our senses. This is an opportunity to unplug, learn to make things with our own hands, and sync to nature’s rhythm. This program is based on holistic mentoring, rather than imparting information. It aims to teach a broad curriculum of local species, wilderness skills, and sensory awareness, through experiences that also awaken attributes such as aliveness, curiosity, agility, self-sufficiency, common sense, and helpfulness through connection with the natural world. Knowing all your needs are provided for in nature, you may begin to feel at home in the wilderness.

We value low mentor-participant ratios & a smaller group size to foster quality mentoring
Hunter-Gatherers on all continents had an incredible connection to place. They knew the hazards, the animal track and sign, the seasonal wild edible plants and medicine herbs. They could tell where predators were by the calls of birds and foretell a storm days in advance by the presence of certain clouds. Their comfort in nature matched their skills in wilderness survival.
Explore the land as our ancestors once did, practicing survival skills, tracking animals, learning edible/medicinal plants, learning hazards, bird language, scout awareness, community, ecology, and earth living skills.
Follow a curriculum based on the seasons and what the land inspires.

A typical day is from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and includes gratitude, games, snack, stories, skills/crafts, lunch, exploring, and themed activities for the day (such as animal tracking missions, or making something from materials found on the land), and closing circle with a few stories from the day.
We facilitate an environment of mutual respect, fun, and camaraderie among the kids. Learning takes place through inspiration and curiosity.

"I LOVE Robin and Katie as nature mentors, both as a parent and for my son. They are both so peaceful, fun, and so full of appreciation of life that the class and kids just flow. The skills for identifying things in nature, nature games that serve many many roles, and hand work that builds fine motor skills were skillfully woven into the day, drawing kids in and playfully teaching about life around us. I wish they had classes for parents too....... they have so much information to offer and are a joy to be around." - Claire, Los Gatos CA
