What we offer:We offer Wilderness Rite of Passage trips to school classes, groups, and individuals by request.
For Youth: A rite of passage is a powerful way to mark the transition out of childhood into young adulthood and/or into high school. This is an opportunity for participants to let go of limiting beliefs, to choose to enter young adulthood with intentionality, and to claim the kind of person he or she wants to be in the world. For Adults: Life has many transitions, the wilderness can hold a profound container for us to consciously make a transition, no matter our age. There are times when you need to mark a shift, take time away from the daily routine, test your courage, or move energy in your life for a deeper purpose. We will draw on our deep curriculum of Earth Skills such as wilderness survival, tracking, or fire making, as well as music, storytelling, art and combine this with direct experience with the wilderness to craft the journey. Our focus includes the individual's connection with nature, self, and the community/group/class, as well as his or her relationship with parents and his or her childhood past and emerging future. We customize the experience to suit the unique needs of each group or individual, and for school groups we work personally with the class teacher to set up a meaningful experience.
